Suggested paths: Wall st, liberty statue, battery park promenade

Many subways go there, so take the green line (4,5) to Bowling Green or the 1 (red line) to South Ferry. You will be at the very bottom of the island of Manhattan. (subway costs $2.25 per ride, but if you buy a $10/$20 card, you will get a cash bonus credit and you both can use it)

  1. You will find the famous Wall St Bull next to the subway exit. Take a couple of pics, btw lots of people like to grab the bull’s balls and take pics too :)
  2. Take the Staten Island ferry to SI, it goes by the statue of Liberty and you can take great pics. Take the next ferry back.
  3. Once back, look around the park. There’s a large damaged sphere that survived the WTC attack. It is one of the main symbols of NYC’s resilience.
  4. Turn around once you’re done with the sphere. The entrance to the Men in Black offices will be right there!!! It’s real, it’s a big square building.
  5. Start walking left-ish, towards the water on the west side. The neighborhood called Battery Park City will begin. Follow the promenade, it is full of hidden gardens, fountains, an art. You will walk up the promenade with a view of the Statue of Liberty. It’s amazing! Find the high Mirant where you can take sick pictures of yourselves with the statue on the background.
  6. Enjoy the stroll and the marinas, there are also a few memorials as you walk along. If you have time, go online and se if the 9/11 memorial has any available tickets. They’re free too.
  7. once you reach the World Financial Center, don’t miss the Winter Garden. It’s amazing. Next, ask around where the Shake Shack is. It is a great burgers and shakes place, and it is a great NYC staple. Ok, you will have to pay for food if you’re hungry. :)
  8. One of the piers has a mini golf course, volleyball courts and some cool other sports. Even if you are not into the blood sport of putt-putt (I think it costs $8 to play), you can watch people.
  9. To your right you will see the posh TriBeCa neighborhood. The 1,2,3 subway stops at Chambers St and it can take you back uptown.

(I actually got caught by a storm as I was about to go to the high line, so had to find a cafe, then just walked around tea places until it was time to go to the jazz club)
