Buying earplugs

• key choice: foam, or silicon with a filter
  • foam reduce most of other frequencies and you’re left with just bass
  • silicon with filter reduce all/most frequencies equally so you shouldn’t lose much on sound, just on loudness
  • you want to look at attenuation, especially across frequencies
  • SNR are usually a bit higher than NNR
• they’re gonna be expensive. but this is your hearing and you want to still enjoy music.
• known brands: eargasm, hearo, alpine, etymotic, acs pro 17.
• best is custom made. but then those are really expensive.
